Hi ~ I'm sorry you're in such pain. There are medications that are used for "seizures" but they found that they worked on the burning/stinging & needles & pins. One medication is Neurontin and another is Topamax. I like the Topamax best cause it didn't make me gain weight from water retention. These meds CAN help with that kind of pain. Ask your doc about them -- he should know about them anyway -- I don't know why he doesn't have you on them.

The hydrocodone isn't real great for this kind of pain -- a long actiing medication is better, such as MS Contin, Oxycontin or Methadone. Those last longer and seem to be more effective.

I wish you the very best. If the first injection doesn't work to ease your pain, DON'T let him do any more. The subsequent ones won't work either. And steroids aren't great for the body.

Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee

As it's been over a month, I've sent Marissa an email urging her to see a neurologist, and to come back and visit the PN forum.
