My name is Elizabeth. I need help finding any and all reasons blackouts occur without drugs or alcohol. I have had a cat scan and nothing came of it. I have had moderate to severe depression my entire life but have not had any other diagnoses. Bi polar and anger issues run in my family and my mother had amnesia some years ago so severe she did not know she had children. I'm not requesting a medical opinion or diagnose rather possible reasons. I am a very to myself person and do not like fights. During a blackout I drove, hit someones car, and fought three officers. I started " coming back" in the police car with a safety helmet on. Then again strapped to a hospital bed. Now I'm facing a felony and my lawyer is free so I have to prove there was a black out and that I'm not just a belligerent jerk on my own. I had a blood test done also proving there was nothing in my system. Someone please help! Emails are ok.

Wow ~ Very scary. It's VERY possible you had a seizure. That would NOT show up on a scan. At least not the first one, I wouldn't think. That's about the only think I can think of that would cause this. It really sounds like a seizure to me.
It doesn't have to be epilepsy to be a seizure either. These can be caused by a number of reasons. I would urge your doctor to run a complete CBC as well as checking your vital mineral levels. Have him do a complete workup, and see what he comes up with. Low/high levels of certain minerals, etc can cause seizures -- so let us know what happens, ok? I hope you can get out of this charge! I KNOW this was medically caused! God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee
