I am sorry, that it is slow here right now.
This is a 3 day holiday for the Veterans Day weekend, and
people may be busy.

Our mental health forums are not very busy but our sister forum is a mental health format completely. You might want to try over there also. You will have to sign up again, as our members list is separate.

Here is the link:
http://forums.psychcentral.com/

Psychcentral preceded NeuroTalk by many years, and is quite large. So do look around there as well.

Default Hi Lady Zero

Welcome to Neuro Talk. Sorry if we didn't get to your post. Once in a great while that happens. Just keep posting, and for sure somebody will get to you. I know depression can be awful. I get bouts now and then too, but not like what I did before. I come here when I get depressed now, and have found the friendship and support needed. You will too. There is an end to this dark tunnel of depression. sometimes you have to reach out to others, and maybe even a professional. It was my PCP who got me on track. Do you have a support team at home, and a doctor who listens to you? Keep in touch. I will answer. I will be gone for just a few days here. I have to have my house tented for termites, thats what I get for living in fla. I will be home soon and would be glad to help you in any way I can. ginnie

so kind of you to reply. I must admit I'm lost here and trying to work my way round. At the moment I'm not getting any support with my depression. I can't seem to muster even the strength to ask for help. There seems no point in anything. My life this whole year has been spent in bed, literally. 11 months in bed with no contact with anyone except my son who lives at home. I'd be ashamed to say how many times in that period I have even bothered to shower. This is not living ! I will search out the other site. Thank you again.

Depression certainly is a monster. You said you are bedfast. Is that due to pain issues? If so, I feel that depression is almost an automatic part of the bag of pain issues and must be addressed as such. I understand about the showering issue. I am sooooo grateful that I have an aid that comes in three time a week to help with various problems, including hygiene. I can go for weeks with pain and depression that is so out of control that I couldn't/wouldn't drag myself into the tub if it weren't for my aid.

What is going on? Are you getting any therapy? There are answers for depression.

I'm brand new and looking around as I post. this looks like a great place to share our issues and this looks like a place where people participate. Just be patient.

God Bless and Good luck

Smile Hi SalfuZ!

I know it's a little strange being new and all . You'll soon become familiar with how the forum works and you'll find that it's actually quite fun and there's alot of things to do.

Here's a link that will take you directly to the "Depression" forum, where the discussion is more specific to depression, rather than 'emotional support' in general.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...aysprune=&f=37

Like MrsD said, it's been a bit slow lately, but it should pick up.
I hang out there, as depression has been an unwanted guest in my life off and on thru-out the years.
I'm ever so grateful to have this forum to come to.

We certainly are not alone in this!

Rae
