A good friend of mine has a sister that has lyme disease and she went from being a grade A student and great kid to a complete turn around in personality. Took a while for someone to think of checking for lyme disease, they were close to having her hospitalized but while they were considering one of her docs thought to test her. Thank God, now she is being treated. I have read that sometimes you have to do antibiotics for a really long time and often the 'quick' tests are wrongly negative.

If you will keep us posted. I am very interested in how you do. I totally get what you are talking about and think of your condition often. I hope you find something or someone that can help.

Wow, insane! That's what I've read in the past week or two that I've been digging into the lyme community. There's a million different symptoms! Some people get bed ridden, some people develop brain lesions and numb limbs for life if they don't catch it quick enough. Me? If I have it we're definitely good lil sleeping buddies because it's been 5 years and I have no brain lesions, numbness, or facial paralysis. She's lucky to have had a doctor intuitive enough to test for Lyme. Most doctors are very ignorant to the disease, especially in my experience.

I'm getting tested on Monday and will get results back in 2-3 weeks. It's a $500 test not covered by insurance, not the typical "ELISA" test that fails often. If it comes back negative, I'll try a different test with another popular Lyme lab. If nothing then, I'll probably move on from that idea.

I will definitely keep you posted! I finally subscribed to the thread so I'll no if you or anyone else comments on it :). I try to check back here every week anyways though!
