Default How do you deal with

How do you deal with someone that has anger and control issues, spouts a lot of threats in anger then denys saying them? Probably just to make me sound like a liar.

Hello, kime.

What I would do and what you will do might be very different but you did ask

You gave very little information so I am giving my opinion based on different types of relationships.

If this person is a friend: By the actions you describe the person is not a friend and I would no longer associate with him/her.

If the person is a family member: I would distance myself and possibly cut ties even tho' it's family.

If ther person is a spouse or significant other: I would tell that person I will no longer tolerate the abuse (control issues, threats and anger is emotional abuse).

The spouse/significant other needs help by a mental health professional and possibly couples counseling. If he/she refuses then it's time to cut your loses and walk away. In a relationship emotional abuse can transition to physical abuse.

Regardless of which senerio you question falls under what your describing is not a healthy relationship and for your well being it's best to protect yourself by getting that person out of your life.

Sounds like someone who drinks and says those things while in blackout. If not, it still sounds serious. Has he hit you yet? Google a safehouse in your area, if he is not willing to go to marital/relationship counseling. billie
