Hi Everyone,

It's great to see so many familiar faces here on NeuroTalk. :) I hope you are all doing well.

As many of you know, I was banned from BrainTalk yesterday for starting a thread solely intended to help an American woman with newly discovered food intolerance in Iraq. I am still trying to figure out what happened. :(

I got a message from the moderator stating that I was being cited for "Inappropriate Language", to which I responded strongly by saying that I had no idea what he was talking about and asked that it be changed, as it implied that I had used foul language (which I clearly had not). This "Inappropriate Language" infraction showed up on my Public Profile with no explanation of the charges, thus the demand to have it removed or changed. He wrote me back stating that, upon review, it was obvious that the charge was wrong and it should have been "Solicitation", worth 100 points and warranting an immediate ban. There was no reasonable explanation for the solicitation charge and the thread was immediately removed.

Now, what was that all about? Vendetta? Did I hurt his feelings?? Solicitation for trying to get some help for a person with our condition who was in need? All I really wanted was some guidance and to see if there were already programs in place to help out a person in this position. Plus, I thought the readers would want to hear of a long-distance success story. She was doing great on the diet but needed help in continuing. You'd have thought I was asking for members to send me cash ande cursing them if they didn't. My head is still spinning from the experience.

Anyway, I am glad that so many of you who know me are here on NeuroTalk. I was getting a number of inquiries (all handled free of charge, of course) through BrainTalk who wanted to know more about the elimination diet, especially for epilepsy. I feel like a major bridge just collapsed.

I hope that I can come on here occasionally, learn something, and share my research and success stories with you. The astounding successes of gluten-free/casein-free/soy-free diets are becoming more and more well-known but every avenue of information helps.

Thanks for being here,
John

So sorry DogtorJ!

I just read that over on braintalk so I came over here to see what's up.

You would think a warning and delete the post would do.

Just glad you have somewhere to share your thoughts still.

Very glad to see you made it here.

I just e-mailed this site to you (and Claire) and came to see if anyone else had any further info. and see that you are already here.

Pardon the e-mail then... too little, too late. As long as it works out here, that's great. :)

Welcome to NT, John. :)

Thanks to Claire for really being on top of everything.

Yes, you'd think a warning and deletion of the thread would've been enough if they didn't agree with the placement of the content.

Thank you so much! :)

Thanks to all of you for the welcome and kind words. Your responses and Emails have made all of the difference in my attitude today. Yesterday, I felt like I had been cut off from a number of people I truly cared about. I was so excited to be reminded of NeuroTalk and that many of you had relocated here. I'll sleep better tonight. :)

I look forward to continuing our journey of learning together!

WELCOME DogtorJ!!

I think you'll find the support staff on this board much friendlier and mature in their interactions. All the moderators are known, so no mystery #x moderator sending you vague messages. I prefer it here anyways  .

I'm looking forward to some lively discussions from you :winky: .

Thanks Rachel. I'm so glad that most of my friends at BT have moved over here to NeuroTalk. I love you guys! :)

Interestingly, I got an Email from the moderator at BT the other day upgrading me to "Suspended". I had written a few Emails of explanation, expressing my sadness over being isolated from you guys before I realized that most were here as well. Hey, I couldn't even log on there from home, much less make a post. They banned my IP address (after I tried to log on with an alias. )

But, that's all water under the 'ol bridge now. I feel muuuuuch better knowing that you guys are all here at NT. :):) :)

I guess I should post and say we are 3 years GF now. I can hardly believe it's been that long. But I'm sooooo glad we are!

We had a lovely afternoon as the HFS that I frequently shop at had a special gluten free day with gluten free samples to eat and take home. It's pretty funny when the family gets excited about going to the grocery store. :D They had several things they don't usually carry and we had a great time (and spent too much money).

Going gluten free would have been sooooo much more difficult without the help and support I got from so many of ya'll. Thank you!

Rachel
