Default Your Doctor Can Diagnose Gluten Intolerance

This was mentioned by someone else but the best way to be totally sure if you suffer from gluten intolerance or celiac disease is to schedule an appointment with your doctor. There are a couple simple procedures and you will know for certain.

The scary thing is there are all sorts of diseases that are being linked to gluten intolerance such as depression and cancer so if you have the slightest suspicion that you are have a gluten intolerance, it is worth having it looked at.

The cool thing is, if you are diagnosed, it isn't that difficult to live gluten free and you will continue to feel better each day and have more energy to do the things you love!

All the best!

Conrad

From the experience of friends, family, and personally, most doctors do a poor job at diagnosing gluten sensitivity. They do an IgE skin prick test or they do an invasive biopsy which may detect villious atrophy which is only a possible subset of gluten sensitivity. Many Integrative MDs are pretty good at diagnosing gluten sensitivity. Of course, the cheapest way is to get off the gluten and see. However, many of us want those black-and-white test results.

Yes, I would love those black and white test results, because my family just thinks I'm being weird. But I am now 100% positive that gluten is my problem. After avoiding it for all this time, I had some instant mashed potatoes last friday (given to me by my mom, bless her) that were contaminated, and I am now just beginning to feel somewhat better. I became extremely bloated and constipated, rashed out all over (especially on my arms and my back) and had horrible indigestion. The only thing that made me feel any better was some ginger tea.

I have been seeing around the internet people talking about a supplement called RevitalX...anyone have any experience with this?

I'd like to add that nightshade vegetables are very difficult for many people to tolerate.

I discovered potatoes myself making my neuropathy worse!

Nightshade veggies can be quite problematic. Chili peppers, regular peppers, tomatoes, eggplant and potatoes are something to watch out for.

It is not just gluten out there making people ill!

This post talks about enterolab, but there is a comment on it with a list of possible other ways for testing http://www.foodsensitivityjournal.co...available.html

you're 'gluten withdrawel' is very similar to 'carb withdrawels' people commonly get when they stop eating grains. congratulations on this first step towards better health!

here's an interesting article on gluten and how it damages us http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog...diet-solution/
