I recently added a Not Celiac? page to TGF. It discusses some of the other things that can look like celiac, and even cause villous atrophy. Soy intolerance is on the list, but lectins are specifically addressed.

We had a whole thread devoted to the topic of 'other things that cause villi damage' that Kim had started over at the other place.

Perhaps I should add some of this lectin info, but first I should probably make the time to read it. There were many other threads on lectin, too, but it isn't a subject I've wrapped myself around....just read peripherally. I know the MS-Direct sites promotes gluten, dairy, legume free diets.

I agree there are lots of things to think about when people don't improve fully on a gluten free diet, or if they have gluten sensitivity without the 'main genes'. I sure wish they'd find more out about DQ1, though, because it seems a significant number of us fit that picture.

I am so glad to have found this thread and site, for that matter. I was regularly visiting c.com, but found that information like this is just sorely lacking and the site was a huge disappointment. I have learned more in the past tne minutes reading about lectins than I have in months of the other board. Thank you so much!! This may be the help I have been searching for.
