Hi Cara,

Thanks for all the work you do, to help people learn about the huge numbers of VERY BAD effects on people who continue to eat gluten, when these people have a gluten sensitivity---and how all these bad effects can go away, in gluten-sensitive people, by eating a GLUTEN-FREE DIET! (gluten is found in wheat, rye, barley, and gluten can cross-contaminate oats, buckwheat, and gluten can be found in envelope glue, previously used teflon cookware, previously used cast iron cookware).

I wouldn't have known most of all of this, had it not been for your efforts in spreading the word about non-Celiac gluten sensitivity (and Celiac Disease, too).

I also think it's great to see you as a mod (moderator), here, because you have a vested interest in this forum helping lots of people! And, you're nice. And, you're not bossy. Etc. I like the transparency, and laid-back-ness of these forums over here at BT2. I do still post over at OBT (original braintalk).

Question

I read this article:
"Well... the eyelid jumping migrated south. Now it feels like my intestines are vibrating. Seriously odd! It feels like I swallowed a pager or something. Has anyone else experienced that sensation?

At my worst, I had that feeling intensely...like someone was playing the guitar in my abdomen. It was horrific. I had to give presentations at work while this was occurring. It was awful.

Grace"

The sentence where she says : "Now it feels like my intestines are vibrating. Seriously odd! It feels like I swallowed a pager or something." This is exactly what I am feeling. I even described it as "I feel like I swallowed a pager."

Did anyone ever answer this?

Thank you,

Larry

Default Osteoporosis and Gluten Intolerance

Gluten intolerance is often associated with osteoporosis. The main cause is chronic GI malabsorption due to the ongoing inflammation of the GI lining due to undigested gluten fragments. Chronic malabsoprtion of calcium leads to loss of bone mass. Once bone mass loss reaches a certain threshold, an individual receives a diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Lifestyle changes including a gluten- and casein-free diet represent the best long-term solutions. Calcium and vitamin D supplmentation, themselves "supplemented" by regular exercise, will help one's body to begin to build new bone mass. Of course, for persons who have not exercised in months or years, a physician's supervision and guidance is very important.

I took a look at allergy testing and saw in one testing for gluten and testing for gliadin. Now I am confused. Can you explain them. Wouldn't positive for one be positive for the other? Wouldn't both be the same in terms of diet?

Attention Gluten sensitivity caused by toxics sprayed on wheat

Gluten sensitivity might actually be caused by the toxic sprayed on wheat...research on Roundup Linked to Global Boom in Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance or the real reason wheat is toxic etc.
Note: Sorry, I'm not able to post the links, since my post count here on neurotalk is only 2 (I joined today)
