Default Neurological symptoms from gluten????

Hi there
Really need help! I have tested negative for coeliac and the genetic testing for it so that's great! However, I do have neurological issues which concern me. I have had an MRI done twice, the last one about a year and a half ago to rule out ms. My issues are: muscle twitching, vibrating feeling - particularly under feet, pins an d needles in legs and feet, funny feelings in arms and hands, twitching fingers anything e list goes on! Muscle aches also and sometimes an issue with my balance. IT feels like my nervous system is wired but without the anxiety!
Not to mention gerd as well and a host of other problems that have come and gone throughout the years.
I have tried a gf diet in the past. It's quite difficult as I bake for a living! I did go to a kinesiologist who recommended going off wheat and dairy.
My symptoms are worsening and I'm a little worried. Not sure if I should resume the gf diet.
Please tell me if these pins an d needles and muscle twitching and vibrations could be from a gluten Intolerance???!!!
Vicki

The pins and needles in legs and feet certainly sound like peripheral neuropathy and celiac has been implicated in that disease. There's a researcher from England (Sheffield, I believe) who says that had celiac disease first been associated with neurological issues instead of gut issues it would've been defined as a disease of the brain instead of a gastrointestinal problem. Google Marios Hadjivassiliou for more information - along with David Perlmutter who wrote the book Grain Brain. Says it all! Sorry that you bake for a living but really, going gluten free may well be the best thing you can do for your health. Also check out The Wahls Protocol for an amazing story that includes going gluten free - for MS. Seems to be a solution to many many problems . . .
Best of luck!

Default gluten sensitivity

Celiac testing is not very reliable. My doctor said don't even bother, just go gluten free. I had many of the symptoms you have plus horrible neuropathic pain. I did not get rid of them until I got every last speck of gluten out of my house and life. You can find web sites that tell you how to do that.

After about year, my pain was just about gone. I did two challenge tests with tiny amounts of gluten. Both times, 2 days later, I had pain flare ups.

I DO NOT BAKE with gluten any more, not even for my kids. Flour gets airborne and stays there for hours and then settles everywhere. You are breathing it if you are baking. If you are breathing it, you are swallowing it. If my kids bring gluten into the house, they know they must keep it away from my food prep and eating areas.

This is an extremely hard thing to do. But, I was very motivated because my neuropathy was unbearable.

Hope this was helpful. Good luck.
