Thanks for posting this question. I've lost almost 25 pounds (abouat 20% of my body weight) since Nov 06 and although I've levelled off, it is really a struggle. I've stopped losing mostly by cheating! I've had to go completely lactose free/dairy free as well which makes halting weight loss SO HARD -- and nobody in our culture is
at all sympathetic to this problem!, What has worked to halt my slide?
My nutritionist told me the key to halting the scary weight loss is to NEVER eat anything (fruit, carbs) without
tossing some protein in my mouth at the same time. It works! I've stopped losing. Peanut butter plus chocolate is a good fattener and contains protein. Also, CLIF bars had a wide selection of dairy and gluten free flavors that are almost yummy and also contain protein to prevent muscle loss. CLIF adds new flavors frequently. About 10 grms protein each.
Also, she said - counting calories actually is important for us. So I go ahead and gobble BIG portions of whatever I can eat. I used to go to Weight Watchers for years before I got sick, so I am very happy to say good-bye to "portion control"! LOL!
