Those who use Tinkyada, have you noticed a slightly off flavor lately?

My youngest still loves it, but I let her put cheese in hers so she may be masking the taste. Oldest doesn't want it anymore, but won't express why. I can't tell if its just me, or if it really does taste different. (I tried buying different shapes, to see if that was it, but, its still just...different. Not horrible or rancid tasting, just not as tasty as it used to be)

I saw a thread on delphi mentioning the user hated it, and it made me wonder if others are noticing it as well...or if its just a fluke...

I'm no help as I've never liked it. (In part because I don't like my pasta to be al dente--I'm a heathen, I know.)

Sorry, I'm a Rizopia girl... 'cause I can get it for 99 cents when it goes on sale. So I buy a year's worth when that happens.

I use Tinky exclusively for my pasta.

What I DID notice in June when stocking up for my long vacation (where no one has ever heard of Gluten intolerance)

was that Tinkyada makes TWO versions of most of their pasta.
The store I buy from (the only one in this area) used to sell only ORGANIC..
and it was pretty expensive.

But in June they started carrying a NON-Organic version at a much lower price.
So I bought that for the vacation.

But I have not noticed any change of taste at all. (you do realize that children have more active taste buds, than adults...
we lose them with age). And I am old... atrophied probably compared to children who can taste more.

I put shredded mixed Italian fresh cheese on it (Kraft Italian) and maybe that
is masking any taste change.
I will certainly pay attention. I have not noticed anything really.
Tinky remains my steadfast fave. I've done so many others(which I didn't like or were too starchy). What I also like about Tinky is that the glycemic index is lower, hence the sugar effects of the digestion of the brown rice, is more compatible with my metabolism. I use the penna alot... I'd be lost without it.

Do you eat any kind of pasta? The other GF brands I've tried always fell apart too much when I cooked them.

I never liked rice pasta before I had Tinkyada's. The spirals hold up pretty well to over cooking. I haven't noticed any change in taste, but I have noticed that their organic tastes different than their non-organic. I prefer the organic Tinkyada, but you can't get all their types in organic.

I wonder if thats it then...I think I've been bowing to non organic due to cost...but for awhile I think it was organic that was on sale.

Or maybe I'm suddenly buying Orangic, and thats the taste issue :P

Wow... just think of all the fun we could have if I pointed out ALL of my misspellings and other guffaws.

Well, Tinkyada was not my favorite initially. Bi-Aglut was. But that was too much corn. So, we have used Tinkyada exclusively now for years. I have not noticed any change. I use the spaghetti, fettuccine, spiral, elbow, and penne. My personal favorite is the penne. I just checked my packages...some are O-R-G-A-N-I-C , and some aren't!

Just FYI about Tinkyada. In my neck of the woods, the organic comes in 12oz packages and the conventional comes in 16oz packages. And of course the organic costs more!
