Default 1000 Posts - Hang your curtains!

Congratulations everyone! We have gone over the 1000 post mark and are still the most active group on BT2!

What I want to know is what gives with everyone's avatars? I'm such not an avatar person, but finally got one up, and they are kinda fun. I think Mrs. D gets the prize for the best avatar. I gotta find something better for her cat to play with besides a red X .

With October coming upon us, I think it's time to hang up those curtains. Whadda ya think?

Lightbulb meowwww?

I will help anyone here with an avatar, and/make one too.

Send me a PM or email me with your favorite photo, or tell me what you
like (cartoon character..etc) and I will try for you.

I love doing graphics... but I did not "make" my kitten, she was already out
there in avatar-land. My latest was Melody's at PN. She gave me a poor
quality webcam shot, and I cleaned it up for her.

You should all be proud here. You are a great community.

We are going to check out some two week old Wheaten Terrier puppies tomorrow morning, one of whom may be coming home to live with us in November. SO... if I get a picture... I may make it my avatar!

Benson aka Benny ??? But we will wait to see if the name fits

Here is what Wheaten's look like for those who may not know:
http://www.puppydogweb.com/gallery/s...terriers/e.htm

Runner up names were:

Nova (but thought that would get confusing... "no, nova!" - my husband's choice)
Merlin aka Murry
Bentley aka Benny
Wilbur aka Willie (this was J's choice for a while, but now she likes Benny)
Barney (my idea, but vetoed majorly)

I've spent all week thinking about Ginger....it's hard to move on. Probably doesn't help that my screen saver is a slideshow of about fifty pictures of her. I think a new puppy will be a good addition to the family, and I THINK we may get to meet the actual guy we will be bringing home. Planning on a male this time around.

the puppy pictures are sooo cute What color will you be getting? I did not realize they came is colors other than tan.

If it counts for anything, I like "Benny". Of course Merlin could become Merlie ?

New puppies are so much fun and so much work. Two weeks old - are their eyes open?

Take your camera and post a picture for us.

I expect they will be pretty tiny yet, but I think there eyes should be open. J's voice teacher sheepdog just had puppies and we've been watching them grow. To be honest, I am not sure if these are white coat or tan. We are hoping buff/tan. I guess the Irish coat is white, and Amercian coat is buff.

I'll let you know tomorrow!

I LOVE other people's puppies!! Hate having them around all the time though if I'm the one who has to take care of them.

We're senior dog adopters here because, even if they were not previously house dogs, they housetrain in a day or two (which is about my attention span for anything 'new' ) Plus they're big enough to do stairs on their own (we generally get big dogs... although the children have been bugging for something like a cocker spaniel or a pug and dh wants a little weiner dog... that would probably never be able to do all the stairs in our house... )

I look forward to hearing your photos and 'new puppy' stories though.

Cara,

What a nice looking group of dogs.

My vote is for Benson Thomas....BT for short!

Have you been watching the "Dog Whisperer", what a great show. My daughter watches it all the time and this guy is amazing with dogs!

I am with Kim, I grew up with lots of dogs...at one time we had 3, 2 samoyeds

http://www.ameridogs.com/BreedSamoyed.htm

and one mixed. The mixed had 9 puppies once and one samoyed had 6 or seven. The samoyed was one of the nicest dogs we ever had. Very gentle and smart.

It was all such fun, but I got it all out of my system while I was young and no longer want to deal with the idea of being tied down at this stage in my life.
