Default Suggestions/Discussion for the Recipes Threads

Kim has been so gracious to have set up the "Recipe Guide" Thread, and Cara stickied it. I think that we should try to keep these threads to recipes themselves rather than including discussion on how to set up the threads or what the threads should include. I know I would like to just be able to look for recipes, rather than having to sift through a lot of discussion.

So I created this thread to be a marker for that discussion. For example, there has been some suggestions about what acronyms should be included on the "Everything Free" recipe thread. Could we continue that discussion here instead of there? It just makes looking for a recipe that much easier.

It's exciting to be involved in creating a forum from the ground up! So, I'm not saying that we shouldn't discuss them - by all means, we should.

BTW, CF seems to be the accepted acronym for "casein free" and DF for "dairy free".

Thanks, Claire

Claire,

Thanks for being on top of that!

I received a couple of PMs that I read this morning and was just coming in to create a 'recipe discussion thread' and saw you had already done so.

I will add it to the top of the Table of Contents page so that newbies will have a place, right up front, to ask questions if they don't want to start a new thread too.

Great catch!

Sorry about another post here... but I've been thinking...

If people want to have 'threads of their own favourite recipes', it wouldn't be hard to do that. I'll make up one for myself and then you can have a look and see if you want to do the same.

Then we could link them on the Contents page so that people who have similar diet practises can access 'your page' with the links to the recipes that you are currently finding most useful.

It might or might not work well. I'm willing to test it out to see how it goes. It would be interesting to have some input about it from others as to whether it's working or not.

This might make it easier to link things (specifically special diets) to any new recipe setup we might come up with in the future.

I just managed to make GF corn dogs, using Mexican Maseca dough around the hot dogs. It turned out so tasty, I thought I would post it on the recipe thread. But the dinner link, where I think it should probably go, is inactive for me. What can I do?
Hugs,

Hi Lois!

I think that just means that nobody has started a Dinner Recipe thread yet ...so... You get to start it!

Just make a new thread called "Dinner Recipes" and add your corndog recipe! Hot diggety Dog...they sound pretty good . And then maybe we can all roll out our favorite dinner recipes .

Then Kim will link it into the index for us .

Cara
