Default Celiac/Dementia/Neuro issues

I am a long time member with my own multiple neurological problems. My husband is also ill with I don't know what all. He was diagnosed with what is believed to be Frontal Temporal Lobe Dementia. I have tried to get his numerous doctors to consider this might be autoimmune in nature because his history has a number of autoimmune diagnoses. My Rheumatologist ran your typical initial bloodworm for autoimmune disease and, as far as I know, all came back negative. Most pleas full on deaf ears.

He has Celiac Disease, probably FTLD, Psoriasis, Diabetes Type II, Hypothyroidism, a-fibrillation, Neuropathy, Sleep Apnea, Seborrheic keratoses and most recently an AV block. The only other thing I can think of is a nasty flareup of Shingles that maybe could have something to do with his immune system.

He has never had any falls or head injury, nor has he been a substance abuser. I asked the drs tech what his record showed as a diagnosis and he related something on the order of memory problems. This, despite the dr. telling us of the dementia. I have scoured his history to see if there was anything I missed as a possible cause. Other than handling formaldehyde, I can find nothing, but the practice of using this in his biology labs was discontinued years ago. There is no family history of any autoimmune disorder, dementia or Alzheimers..

His GI biopsy was positive for Celiac-doctor was stunned, due to no symptoms at all... I know some of his labs for Celiac were positive, but cannot recall which labs.

The type of this dementia is undoubtedly the behavioral variant and the un-cooperativeness is very difficult to deal with. He had to retire after a 50 year teaching career in biology in 2015.

I purchased an LED near infrared lighting setup for him to use after reading of some success in Alzheimer's patients. I cannot tell if this has changed or helped keep his symptoms at bay, but strangely, the area on his scalp where he was bald and his eyebrows began growing (after being absent at least 40 years.) Also, the Seborrheic keratoses began to clear up with use of the lights (applied in a scalp cap and nasal applicator). The lights are no where close to the rash, which is widespread in the trunk of the body (back and front)...

Is anyone on this forum familiar with similar problems and Celiac Disease?

Thank you,
Cathie

Cathie,
I wish I had something to offer other than mention all you have written regarding your husband conditions and the LED light setup are amazing.
