Here is the wiki that explains DR.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MHC_II_DR You need it when they use DR in the lab reports or in the abstacts on pubmed or the ther articles. I have seen they sometimes use DR15 and 16 when they mean DQ5 or 6. wow hold the press! Someone got a positive test after Kimball re-ran the test (sent it to a bigger lab) after being told initially she was negative for DQ2 or 8 http://www.glutenfreeforum.com/index...howtopic=46802 She tested positive for DQ8. More on genes and DR and DQ (old article but useful):
http://www.enabling.org/ia/celiac/cel-hla.html It here exlains the DQ2 can be DR3, or a combo of DR5 and DR7. For an explanation of DR, ccheck the wiki page on DR in a link in a previous post here. Here a thread by someone ddiagnosed but not DQ2 or 8 http://www.glutenfreeforum.com/index...howtopic=47246 |

I have noticed over the last year that several people have had their alpha chains tested, and some have posted about having the 05* alpha chain.
Before, there were never any postings about alpha chain results. |
