Default Swan potato starch

Quick question: Does anybody know if Swan brand potato starch is gluten-free? The box doesn't say, and I didn't find any info from a web search.

Thanks,
Valerie

I have in the past found it on gluten-free product lists. I used it for the first several years gluten free, and we never had a problem with it that I am aware of. I have switched to Bob's, though, just because they certify their potato starch as being gluten free. I did this at a time we were trying to eliminate any sources of gluten contamination, but I don't think the Swan's was a problem.

Thanks -- that sounds promising!

We usually get the Bob's, because of the gluten statement on the package. But my partner went to the store this time, and he brought back Swan's, so I'm trying to figure out if I can use it.

I want to say yes it's ok, but it's been a while since I've checked on it. It is a bit cheaper which is why I liked it ...and before all the gluten free aisles hit the grocery stores...it was a big thing that Swan's could be found locally. I liked that too.

I tried to look for a manufacturer website this morning, but it didn't jump out at me. I also tried to find it on a safe list somewhere. But, I was very hurried when I looked, so I didn't post back one way or the other because I wasn't able to find anything conclusive. Sorry.

Before I posted here, I spent some time doing those same things, but I didn't find an answer. I'm still not feeling quite brave enough to try using it without more information.

(A cookie-baking project for my son's school landed in my lap; I need to have baked a bunch of pumpkin-shaped everything-free cookies by Friday.)

Is there any contact info on the box? Manufacturer number? Website info?
