Nutmeg is lovely, especially for those who have special holiday celebrations that are associated with the scent of nutmeg.
Those holidays might not seem the same without it. However, it's worth it to know a little more about the pros and cons of such a 'spice'. I'll try and start with general stuff and lead into the toxic factors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutmeg Quote:

I am a nutmeg whore. I recently have taken to grating nutmeg into eggs, adding some vanilla and a touch of sweetener. Since I can't have cheese on eggs, I make "sweet" omelets instead. And I also top them, sometimes, with a medley of berries.
Delicious! It's like... dessert for breakfast. |
