Judy, there's a wonderful recipe called Sunny Seed Bread in Food Allergy Survival Guide by Vesanto Melina. It uses a gf-flour mix, no eggs, and a dairy-substitute (like soy milk, rice milk, almond milk...). I'm avoiding most all flours at the moment, but we really enjoyed this at the time. I can pm you with the recipe if you'd like.

September is a busy month for us. All 3 kids in school - which means homework!! Michael is doing well, however very tired from going to school all day. He is falling more than usual. We have ordered him a wheelchair to help with the gluten ataxia. I am hoping that it comes in earlier than expected. Since it is a custom chair, it is expected to take 2-3 months, but we ordered it in August. He sure could use it now.
My 2 girls are being tested for Celiac, genes and thyroid. I am actually saying a prayer that their tests are positive in hopes that it will relieve their symptoms. If they are positive - I feel bad for my DH. He will be the only one in the house without CD! I am so thankful that he is so supportive though! I am loving the cooler weather though! It reminds me of living in Wisconsin and Michigan. I really like that! Have a good month everyone!

Hi everyone! Thanks for starting roll call Kim, and it is good to see you!
It is really good to see so many familiar "faces".... Happy Birthday to Deb! I just got back from a week long trip to Colorado for my niece's wedding... four days on the road and the three days there. I was kept very busy with family things, and I was disappointed that I didn't get to meet up with Claire or Becky, or make it to Monica's bakery. My sister has six young adult children, though, and only two are married so far...so I will be back there again, I know . Gotta run for now! Cara

Hello everyone,
My fourteen year old came home from camp with severe anemia. The doctors won't believe it can come from gluten anemia and forced his first fibroscopy. We will have the results next week. Because we got tested with Dr Fine we are being laughed at. Do any of you have experience with the gluten anemia? Yes he had gluten at camp with no digestive symptoms. The little one is doing well as well as my hubby. I am in my third week of radiation. I was able to steal away for a week holiday in the bright sunshine. I miss you all. PS My epilepsy is doing really well as well as my ataxia. My mom in the States knows when my dad is getting gluten in the hospice by the condition of his legs. Everyone stay optimistic. Though we have so much to say, we must find the right listeners. |
