I heard on TV that the Food Channel will have a "gadgets and gizmos" show. I did not catch when and I could not find it on their website.
Would be fun to watch. I use my blender for fruit smoothies. My favorite gadget is the food saver - seals food without air. Great for cheese...but I don't eat cheese now Still use it for items that go into the freezer. My absolute fav kitchen item is a pan with sloping sides and small round handles on each side. I bought it is Sam's and I have not seen anything quite like it anywhere else. I will cry when this pan wears out. It cooks everything perfectly. Anne |

I read through the cookware...I had no idea copper bottom pans need to be re-tinned Does anyone here actually have their re-tinned? I know mine gets a bit scraped up...esp after dh uses a fork to scrub off burnt applesauce...But somehow I thought as long as it was still steel looking, it was fine... |

Cara, Did you ever get a Bullet? I hate to say this but Consumer Reports did not like it. Said it was too small and get a blender instead.
Of course just because CR didn't like it, doesn't mean you won't love it. Anne |

Is the pan a saucier? Maybe having two "ear" handles instead of a long one? I've heard they're good because the whisk can get to all places versus a straight sided pan, the whisk can't really get into the part where the edge meets the bottom.
I need to get a double boiler. I make a lot of egg based custards and I'm always improvising a double boiler out of things that don't work all that well together. |

Kitchen gadgets. Oh, I am driving my DH nuts in my new found love of cooking since being GF. (I cooked before but didn't love it.)
1. Kitchen Aid mixer - heavy duty big one 2. Family Grain mill for said mixer 3. Immersion blender 4. Blender 5. Convection Toaster oven from Hamilton Beach. 6. High quality measuring cups and spoons (easy to read with imprinted measures, not ink) |
