It is not getting treated yet. We retested it to make sure that is what it is. I should hear today the results of the second test. The GI wants us to see endocrinology have the treatment come from them. So I am thinking treatment won't start for another week or two depending on when we can get in there.

Everything takes so long...so many doctors... I'm sorry you have to deal with all this! I hope things move quickly, and that you can get started on a dietary trial ASAP for Ellie.

Yes, my daughter was around 15 at the time we figured this all out, and although she did do a 3 month diet trial motivated by hearing Dr. Fine speak..and that was a small miracle that she agreed to attend with me. Well, the trial really lasted about 6-8 weeks~ she cheated and lied about it at the end...and then she decided not to stick with it. I DID see improvement in her primarily in mood, energy level, less brainfog, and it was that last month she had those giant lymph nodes in her neck and armpits stumping the doctors. It wasn't until I learned she had cheated that I became suspcicious that might have been the cause. In any case, she still eats gluten. However, by example and some good cooking ;), she knows that a gf diet is doable, and never balks about food choices when she comes home. I still haven't lost faith she might move to the diet one day.

The DAN! doctor we saw found my daughters border low IgA significant, and I had the impression he thought he could do something to improve her overall immune system situation. He said she was headed toward autoimmune disease, if she didn't already have it, but that we could do something about it to change the course. ...but we didn't follow up with him very long because my daughter was 17 by then, and eventually 18... and she was not really interested in pursuing. He did all sorts of immune system testing, and the next set of blood tests was to include an autoimmune antibody screen...but we never got that far. Still, I never regret seeing that doctor. He really zeroed in on many things that fell outside of 'normal'.
