Does anyone have a good fudge recipe?
I saw some in the store tonight and won't be satisfied until I have some! I posted some recipes on the Recipe Guide. Sorry for my unorganized list - someone help me please. I had saved some recipes that interested me from the Old BT. Last edited by anon20160317; 11-13-2006 at 08:17 PM. |

Hi Becki
Sorry, I don't have a great fudge recipe yet but I am working on it also. Our biggest issue is that we try to make things without refined sugar. That's what really gets me stuck re: a good fudge recipe. As for the other recipes, you'll need to put them where they belong. People won't be able to find them there. The other thing to consider, is that there are certain people who don't like their recipes to be copied without permission, so I might suggest deleting those that you copied from other people before anyone feels offended. You'll note that anything I've copied from the obt was either mine or I got permission to copy it from the person who posted it. Please do post your own recipes... And here's the thing, as soon as you 'change' a recipe a bit to suit your taste, it then is your recipe to do with what you please. I find I like to give credit to the person who may have inspired me, but admit that it is not absolutely necessary. I noticed Cara's bread recipe in that lot. Rest assured she has already posted it in the Bread thread. I hope you are not offended. I know that you copied all of those recipes out of kindness and I think it was really wonderful of you to think to share with all of us here... But there was a very long discussion on obt with the general outcome being that we would not copy people's work without their express permission to do so.

Not exactly fudge...but melting chocolate chips with some OJ makes a nice glaze sauce...use enough chocolate chips and it'll be thick and creamy (and so not healthy) you can just cool it on wax paper. I miss my glaze!!! (If only you could fake citrus...) LOL

we melt choc chips with coconut milk, or nut butter, or both, or we buy the wax orchards sugar free fudge (made with pineapple juice to sweeten)

Maybe some further explanation will help here, I hope~
The problem is~ Karina creates recipes professionally and has published several cookbooks, and has made it known that she does not want her recipes copied. She put them out on BT as a way of giving back to the forum, but did not want them copied here and there....and floating all around the Internet. Since then she has created a blog, and you can find many of her recipes there, along with copyright notice. Scroll down the left bar until you get to the index: http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/ There have been many past discussions about copyright, and I realize not everyone was part of those discussions. This particular situation in regard to posting other people's recipes has caused a lot of hard feelings in the past. There have also been discussions forum wide here about copyright in general~ in regard to copying things off of other forums or online sources (BT or other forums, Betty Crocker.com, news feeds, you name it) to post here. I realize not everyone has been part of those discussions either. Can we quote full text of short online magazine articles, etc. ~ which may technically/potentially involve copyright enfringement?? Because copyright law is very open to interpretation it can be a fuzzy area. It is always OK is to provide links to threads or posts that hold the information we want to convey, with a general summary, or a few leading sentences. To copy information and repost it in total may potentially violate copyright law, however it would be impossible for a forum like this to actually interpret law and try to monitor potential copyright enfringement. So, each individual is responsible for what they post. In essense, it is ultimately up to the copyright owner to address possible infringement and ask for it to be removed. As for copying personal posts of others, while there is a slim chance that anyone would challenge it legally, it might not be considered good netiquette to do it. It may be better to leave links to posts where the person maintains the freedom to edit, remove it, etc. There were a lot of hard feelings all around on the old forum in regard to the copying of Karina's recipes after she had requested it not be done. It was my personal opinion that her request was simple and should be honored~ simply because she asked us not to do it....without even entering into the technicalities of copyright law. So, some of us know about this history, and other's don't. Hope this helps to avoid any more confusion. I am a friend of Karina's and really appreciate all the time and effort she devoted to entering her recipes and indexing them (along with some others who helped ), and I appreciate that Kim was trying to avoid repeating history here. Becki, I'm really sorry that you stepped into a situation that you were unaware of, and hope you now understand where this was coming from a little better. I'm sorry for any misunderstandings. Cara
