Maybe someone would like to create a googlepages Gluten Free Recipe File???
It is really easy to get up and running, and I think it would be a perfect and really usable format. The first page could hold the index like a recipe book does and then link to the rest of the pages? You can upload pictures and everything. We could also have a page that links to other recipe sites, like Karina's recipes from her blog, recipes from a [gluten free] goddess , and other sites I have listed on the Favorite Links page of TGF, a page for tips, etc, etc, etc. You get 100 pages, and 100MG (a LOT of space if it is mostly text) I never saved the original recipe thread, but I bet someone somewhere has (Al?). I still think it might be best if we all started over by contributing our OWN personal favorites, or at least make sure it is ok with the original contributor. For example, I know Karina prefers we not copy her recipes because the are original creations and she publishes cookbooks (but now of course we can just link to her blog! yippee!). Any volunteers? First you have to create a gmail account to request a googlepages account. Be aware that whatever name you have for your gmail username will become the googlepages name, such as username.googlepages.com . Far as I know you can't change it. I wish I had registered with a username of theglutenfile! http://pages.google.com/-/about.html Think about it, and those of you who might be up for this task... let us know! Cara

If no one's taken this on in 2-3 months, I probably can. I just can't do it right now as I'm way behind on so many things.
I think it's a great idea. Rachel |

I can bring up the old recipe page http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache...n&ct=clnk&cd=1 but I cannot figure out how to look at the actual recipes.
Hey Al, you are the super googler - is there a way to get into the links and retrieve the recipes? Anne Last edited by annelb; 09-16-2006 at 04:11 PM. |

When I click the link - I don't get anything related to BT's recipes. I wonder if it's coming from your machine. I suspect only that page is cached on your machine - thus only allowing you to see that page - not the others that are linked to it. You'd probably have to google each specific recipe in hopes of recovering them.

Try this link http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache...n&ct=clnk&cd=1
If it does not work, google "our recipes + braintalk" and it should bring up the thread as the first hit. Anne |

If you google braintalk and the actual recipe name or the topic of the type of recipe and braintalk you'll get it, at least part of the time. This will be very painstaking to do. I think it would be best to be done quickly, too, as I don't know when it will stop being cached by google.

I've been googling too [between trying to recover their hard disk data for a friend]. Like Rach said, it would be a very painstaking process as you would have to google each recipe or recipe category. If you're lucky, you can get a page or two.

See below for recipe. Boil on medium heat 8 ozs of pasta (Quinoa is my favorite but rice or corn pasta will do too and any shape. Sometimes I use spaghetti, spirals, linguinne...) till just done. Drain, rinse to cool, and drain again. Let dry a bit. Chop to fill a 2.5 quart microwave bowl any veggies on hand putting the ones that need the least cooking on the bottom and layering up. I like: zuccini and summer squash on the bottom parsley boc choy (or chinese cabbage, spinach) mushrooms, bell pepper (red or yellow if possible) broccoli (or cauliflower or both) celery 1/2 to 1 onion 1 to 2 cloves garlic carrots Microwave for about 16 to 20 minutes till done and drain by holding upside down with lid slightly ajar. (Be careful of steam) In a large mixing bowl pour the veggies in, add 2 or 3 large tablespoons pesto sauce, 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste) salt, 1/4 teaspoon rough ground pepper (or to taste), 2 tablespoons olive oil. Mix, add the noodles, and mix again. Serves 8 with leftovers. * Pesto-In quisanart mix 3 cups basil with about 1/4 cup of olive oil, enough to be creamy, and 4 to 6 cloves of garlic. Put into a ziploc bag or a small jar and refridgerate till you want to use it in a recipe like this one. 01-02-2006, 09:27 PM mistofviolets Distinguished Community Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 190 Quote: Originally Posted by Lesliean * Pesto-In quisanart mix 3 cups basil with about 1/4 cup of olive oil, enough to be creamy, and 4 to 6 cloves of garlic. And when Basil isn't in season, try using 3 cups of Spinach (de stemmed, and thoroughly rinsed of course) and a little bit of dried basil from your spice rack. Works in every pesto recipe I've tried!!! (Although my kids prefer that I skip the basil part )
