Default severe brief headaches - worried

Hi, I am a 34 year old mom of 2 kids under 5. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I refrained from eating MSGs. After birth, whenever I would eat chinese food, within 10 minutes of eating I would develop a severe headache in the back of my head, neck and shoulders. It would typically last about 15 minutes. I also noticed that it happened after I ate Doritos. I figured it was a sensitivity to MSGs. I have avoided MSGs to the best of my ability. This weekend though I had two in the same evening. Both occurred after drinking something with pineapple juice in it. I looked at the can and all it listed under ingredients were water, juice and ascorbic acid. Today I had another one after eating popcorn at a movie theatre. I am getting very concerned!

It does sound like a food allergy. Can you try it again with one of the suspects to confirm it? Perhaps a small serving.
That should help you find out if this is the cause.
I understand that food allergies and intolerance are increasing.
Some of the main things to avoid would include wheat, corn, soy, dairy, for a start.
But if you feel brave, try the popcorn or pineapple again.

MSG as a food ingredient has been the subject of health studies. A report from the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) compiled in 1995 on behalf of the FDA concluded that MSG was safe for most people when "eaten at customary levels." However, it also said that, based on anecdotal reports, some people may have an MSG intolerance which causes "MSG symptom complex" — commonly referred to as Chinese restaurant syndrome — and/or a worsening of asthmatic symptoms

MSG Symptom Complex - Chinese Restaurant Syndrome

Symptoms & Signs
What are the signs and symptoms of the disease?

Symptoms of CRS can include:
# burning sensation on the back of the neck, chest, shoulders, abdomen, thighs, and forearms
# pressure, tightness, or numbness in the face
# chest pain
# nausea and vomiting
# headache
# sweating
# palpitations
# flushing
# wheezing

Seems more like a food intolerance than a food allergy. No rash, itching, swelling.....Good luck.
