I am suffering from post-concussive syndrome from a fall last December. I am dealing with daily headaches since then. I was put on nortriptyline about 4 weeks ago. It seemed to help with the headaches, but now I don't have any interest in my husband sexually. My psychiatrist told me that this happens in about 40% of people. So, now I have to decide if I want to have a headache everyday or have fun with my husband. Is there any drug out there that would help the headaches, but not take away the sex drive? A side note is that I also have a seizure disorder that was diagnosed at the same time as the fall, so not sure about drug interactions. I am going to call my neurologist, but wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

They use many different kinds of SEIZURE meds as well to prevent headaches as well........so i know people with epilepsy as well as headaches and often times their doc will try to use drugs that will treat both! Some seizure drugs that I have taken or am currently on to prevent h/a: topamax, lamictal, zonegran, etc. There also other drus used to prevent h/a.......many blood pressure meds can help. I even take an Alzheimer's drug 4 prevention! Natural supplements that i have been prescribed include: butterbur, coenzyme Q10, magnesium oxide Good luck in your search for relief! |
