Ive been suffering from sinus problems lately, had it a couple times last winter and each time lasted about 2 weeks...nothing all summer, now this winter have had it for 6 weeks now and its really getting me down. Symptoms are headache in forhead, and top of nose between eyes, a general heaviness and sensitive feeling in head, eyes very sensitive and look terrible! Very very tired, ill wake in morning and just want to sleep all day, a couple times ive felt really weak and shaky, but i have no mucus or runny nose, no blocked nose, can breath through it perfectly, havent had a cold recently etc...but i am getting a kind of popping or clicking at the very top of my nose. Been to doctors a couple times, he said it was likely a viral sinus thing, but i thought viral sinusitis usually goes within 2 weeks.
Would really like to know if anyone has any idea if this would be viral, bacterial, or allergy, and whats the best thing to take for it. Have tried everything, beconase steroid nasal spray, lots of different decongestant sprays, sudafed tablets, nothing seems to have much effect, except steaming seems to relieve it for a very short time....

Oh ive also for the last few months been suffering from perimenopause symptoms, though i havent had it confirmed as doctor says im far too young at 37... Hot flushes several times a day and messed up periods....i read that sinus trouble is also a symptom of perimenopause, anyone know if this is true

Repeated sinus infections seem unlikely. Much more likely your headaches and other symptoms are migraine. Headache is not among the symptoms of allergy, so allergy is ruled out.

The olfactory bulbs, which are the organs of the sense of smell, are located between and above the eyes, above the top of your nose. So I'd conjecture that the pain you describe originates in and around your olfactory bulbs.

Many people alter their intake of caffeine-containing beverages during the winter months. Some people increase their coffee intake when it's cool and cold. Other people decrease their caffeinated soda intake during cool weather. Such changes in caffeine intake habits can lead to caffeine withdrawal headaches.

My advice: gradually decrease your caffeine intake from all sources over a number of days. Try using naproxen sodium to relieve your headaches. As you decrease your caffeine intake you may find naproxen sodium becomes increasingly effective at relieving your headaches, even if it didn't work well for you before.
