Default It should get better

My mom had a serious head injury about six months ago. From her experience, I can tell you she felt very sensitive at first, but it got better pretty quickly. The injury can also affect your mood, so your feeling of hopelessness can be part of it. You're literally rattled. She mostly had foggy thinking. Everybody's different, but I would say you will probably find that things get better if you are patient, take care of your head as best you can, and just give it time. At first I didn't think she was ever going to find her words again, but now she's lots better. And she's pushing 80, so since you're young you will probably have an even better outcome. Keep looking for a sympathetic doctor, though, who will work with you; and if you feel suicidal go to an emergency room, because that really is a medical emergency. Same if your symptoms get noticeably worse. OK? Hang in there! You mostly need time to heal.
