Default Worried about a head injury!

On Friday night I was at a concert minding my own business when a plastic bottle was thrown (people tend to do this with their empties as in the crowd you have nowhere to put them) and hit me pretty sharply on the top left of my head.

I didn't see it coming, and the pain was really intense. Immediately (literally within a couple of seconds) a huge lump began forming where it hit. I felt slightly dizzy and in those few seconds my vision went a little blurred at the edges, but I kept consciousness and knew what was going on.

The paramedics gave me icepacks, checked my pupils etc which were fine but this is where it gets complicated.

I suffer from panic attacks and health related anxiety (I would go as far as to say hypochondriac), and I couldn't work out whether I felt (and still feel) so strange because of the anxiety or the head injury.

I was sent to A&E and then sent home (after missing the band, grrr) and felt alright. The next day my head really hurt and my vision feels a little blurred on the left, though I do also wear glasses so I can't rule out bad eyesight.

It's now Tuesday and I still have a really intense headache, though it eases slightly if I take my mind of it. Pain relief isn't doing much and sudden movements are uncomfortable, as is screen work.

I spoke to the doctor on the phone and she said she suspects just a mild concussion but to go back to hospital if it gets noticeably worse.

So far it just hasn't gotten any better. I braved work yesterday and today but I'm wondering if a day of rest away from the screens will help me get over this?

I've never had a head injury before and have heard many stories about slow-burning bleeds, so I've not been sleeping very much out of the fear I won't wake up.

It might sound pathetic to someone who is more self-assured but for me this is the most worrying thing. I drive and while it's been ok so far I'm terrified I'll just have an aneurysm at the wheel and not come out of it
