Thought I'd come on over here to see if anyone has suffered these symptoms.

Brief background, had a severe concussion from car accident last year, also physical injuries still in therapy for, neck and shoulder.

Since the accident I've had awful cognitive problems, about 5 months later started with episodes of not remembering what I had just done, for eg would walk a block and not remember doing it, opening cupboards and opening a bottle and suddenly realize I'd done it.

In December my brain felt like it "shifted" I felt sudden nausea and fear, my husband said I had a fixed stare, then my arms felt like they had electricity shooting down them and they were shaking, then 2 fingers started twitching then it all passed, lasted for a few minutes.

At the ER I suddenly could not write and I started shouting the same thing over and over like a robot, could not stop myself even though I knew it was me somehow, then I started coming out of it and felt clearer.

Dr thought maybe some kind of seizure or complex migraines so I am wondering if anyone with migraines has experienced these things?

Lights can set these episodes off, computer, TV and in stores.

Over the weekend I suddenly got the most severe headache and my head fell forward and my eyes closed, I wanted to shout out but couldn't, when I did manage to open them I was told I was staring weirdly, to me it felt like I couldn't break the stare for about 30 secs then went back to normal.

Don't always get headaches though, notice with the nicer weather I am getting them.

So frustrating but am seeing a neurologist next month.

There's nothing to say it has to be an either/or kind of thing. Have you tried looking into something like...

I don't know if a general neuro will have the knowledge/expertise. I got the runaround (and a case of guinea pig syndrome) from neurologists until—by accident—I found out about "the headache guy"—a neuro whose practice was limited solely to headaches/migraine, board-certified in headache medicine.

Similarly, there's a board certification in seizure disorders. As many specialists now have multiple certificates (and I'm jes' spitballin' here... ), there may be one—or a clinic/practice—board certified in both seizure disorders AND headache medicine(?)

I suffer from severe migraines and at times drift away (because of this and severe migraines in 3days ill be having MRI) It sounds like you have along the same lines but severe.. migraine with seizures and this can be dangerous. I would go to ER or call 911 (explain to family and friends that when this starts to call for you) i would call that neurologist back and make this urgent explain the event keeps happening, normally ifthey bbelieve it's seizures you will be seen sooner than later. I hope you get help soon! If you need help please let me know

Thank you very much for your reply, hope all goes well with your MRI and I'm so sorry you're suffering.

I had an MRI/MRA and it showed at least 7 lesions on the frontal lobes, had car accident/bad concussion last year. The Dr who read the report said damage to the frontal lobes can cause migraines.

Last summer I has severe headaches but they stopped pretty much all winter then now they're back, it is scary as this brain thing is awful.

I'll call to see if I can get in any soon to see the neuro, the waiting list is at least 4-5 months so I've been waiting awhile, I so hope he can figure out what's going on.

Another thing that happens and i'm wondering if this fits with migraines...

I've been driving along and suddenly realize I'm almost at a complete stop, look around and feel confused (I don't drive anymore right now) thank God no one was very near to me.

It was like my foot came off the pedal and I didn't know what I was doing.

Have you ever experienced this?

Are you saying you have a migraine when this happens, or (saying it in a different way) that it happens when you have a migraine?

That has never happened to me... that is very serious I would be screaming at some doctors because your medical issue sounds very alarming. I wouldn't be getting behind the wheel of a car if your what sounds like blacking out. That is scary you can hurt yourself or someone else ; (.

No Dr. Smith, I had no headache/migraine, just looked up and realized I'd slowed the car down and was almost at a full stop and didn't remember doing it, then felt confused looking around.

Yes, Bbbiejo it was scary, thank God it was very quite on the road and cars were way over in another lane.

I can't tell you how many times I mentioned these things to my Dr and she kept ignoring it or saying nothing, changed Dr's and will see the neuro next month, last August I started with the walking again and could walk a block, look up and not remember walking the block, ER Dr said maybe absence seizures so it's always maybe that or maybe complex migraines, very frustrating.

I am so worried as no one is taking this seriously and it's just awful

That sounds really bad.

There are dozens of different types of migraines. I get migraine with aura but sometimes I just get the aura and not the headache.

What you are describing doesn't sound to me like any migraines I have heard about but the only one I really know much about is what I experience.

Even in the types of migraines where consciousness can be affected to some degree, like basilar artery migraines, there are other signs and symptoms that accompany it. Like a syndrome - a group of different symptoms.

What you are describing in your last post here is a condition without a headache, and I take it without an aura, without nausea, and without any other symptoms apart from confusion afterwards.

I've never heard of anyone with a migraine walking around the block and not remembering that they've done it.

Because of your history with your PCS (and TBI?) I would be most concerned!
