Confused need help

Hello I am so glad that I am not the only person who has 3-5 day migranes!!
My doctors make me feel like I am making them up I have tried soooo many different meds...Imatrex midrin darvocet fiorocet tylenol with codine and many more. After seven years I found some relief and Currently i am taking topamax and vicodin but my doctor only prescribes small amounts of the vicodin and lately I have had to take more than usual to just ease the pain... The docs don't understand that my the pain lasts for days at a time. I feel I am developing a tolerency to it but am afraid to tell my doc.. because it is the only thing that has ever worked. It is beoming intolerable and so I have been going to the ER for "the shot"(that is a whole different story) But sometimes I can't even get out of bed to do that. I have two small children and I just want to be a good mom!!!What are these break through meds that i have seen ya'll talk about? Any Suggestions on how to talk to my doctor??
