Default strange headache and other symptoms

Hi
I have been experiencing strange headache like symptoms for the past few weeks. They are mild headaches , that come and go lasting only a few seconds , mostly of the left side. I have had other symptoms like pins and needles, muscle fasciculations, eyelid twitching etc sometimes.. My doctor just dismissed them as nothing. I have slighly elevated blood pressure (140/90) ..

Any ideas as to what could be going on and what approach should I take?

Hi, I wondered if you ever had migraines before? There are so many different types of migraines and we all have different symptoms.

Depending on your age, systolic of 140 isn't actually too bad. It shouldn't cause bad headaches but I guess if your BP usually runs low then that's a different matter.

If it's happening on only one side of your face, you should look up "hemifacial spasm". They can sometimes be associated with migraine.

All sorts of things can cause temporary fasciculations. Do you wear glasses? If so, maybe time to have a checkup.

Try to destress if you can and I hope you're feeling better soon.

all the best.

Thanks for the reply..
I am in my early 50s
These symptoms have appeared in the last few weeks, so thats why the concern. My BP normally is in the 130s/80s range so the increase is a surprise. The symptoms appear quite randomly and dont have a fixed pattern. Some days it will be stabbing headaches, sometime tingling, sometime twitching and so on... I am thinking about MS or some auto immune condition..

I noticed you'd posted about other neuro symptoms in the past. I would get a second opinion if I was in the same situation. Doctors are too quick to fob us off sometimes.

re: bp - I have my own equipment now and I check it everytime before I go for my doc or hosp visits. It's always fine at home but when I get there and they take it and usually elevated. For me it's anxiety that raises it but moving around or even a different size cuff can also affect it.
