Default Sugar/Blood Pressure Triggered Migraines

About 6 months ago or so, I had my very first migraine of this nature. After reading and eating sugary foods, I went to bed. Then my frontal lobe area began throbbing. Then the throbbing then starting alternating between the left and right side, becoming increasingly faster and more intense. Then the poster on my wall, which I couldn't normally see because it was too dark, lit up (all my vision did)...but it was black and white, sort of like an x-ray or camera flash...I don't really know how to describe it, it was an aura. And I heard this weird noise I can't really describe, it was sorta high-pitched and like when you stretch (lift your arms in the air) and you hear that rushing sort of noise? I couldn't talk or move, and the whole thing was over in under a minute. My heart rate had increased and I was scared, but other than that I felt great. The hospital simply said it was a migraine, nothing more. My family doctor also said it was migraines, but gave some more details. She also had me get a CAT scan or CT scan (I can't remember which).

I've been getting these ever since, and recently started taking the Birth Control Pill. I have not had the aura again and only get them when I'm laying down trying to sleep, so it's dark so I can't really say how they effect my vision. There's not usually any pain, just that blood rushing sound I described earlier and the inability to speak. A few I've had have been slightly different, though they all seem to be lasting a bit longer than the first.

The most recent one it felt like my top half was sliding off the bed of it's own accord, and I could make facial expressions but that seemed to make it worse, sort of like having pins and needles and wiggling ur fingers/toes. I did consume a fair amount of sugary food before bed.

Another one I remember started with this semi-painful burning in my stomach that worked it's way to my head, then back to my stomach, then to my head and then the migraine happened.

I'm getting worried and would like to know more about these migraines, things like proper names, symptoms, causes, how to prevent them, etc. Especially since I'm now on the birth control pill. These migraines are extremely scary, despite having a proper diagnosis from my doctor. So does anyone have any info? Personal or otherwise?

Thank you for taking the time to read and responde to this.
