Lightbulb Hort Couture plants...

I found an interesting website, with pictures of unusual plants.

I went to a roadside discount plant spot, where I get very inexpensive things this time of year. He has no overhead, and for us to take on vacation, later in the season it is a good situation for me. This season he bought out another seller so he had tons of stuff, some new varieties etc.
But he also had huge flats of New Wave Petunias for 7.95, when a six pack is usually that or more!

I stumbled onto a form of Euphorbia...called Silver fog.
It was so nice I bought 3 for my planters up North.

So I just looked it up on net and found this website which
seems like a pun on Haute Couture?
http://www.hortcoutureplants.com/plant.aspx?id=8

I had remarked to my husband that these plants looked like designer stuff for the fixey crowd, and I guess I wasn't far off the mark.

But this site does have nice pictures of nice things.
I am going to bookmark it myself!

Default update

I brought up on vacation two of these new designer plants.

The little Zinnia and the Euphorbia Silver fog. Neither did well.

But my good old petunias...are going great guns.
It has been cooler this summer and my gazanias are also slow.
So I am thinking some of these newer plants need HEAT. They are getting full sun.

I won't be buying them again for here.
