Default high pitched whistle

there is a high pitched whistle in my home and its driving me crazy !!!!!!

My husband looked for maybe 10 minutes and said he thought it was a toy and has done nothing since. We narrowed it down to one section of house.
Ive checked all the toys. he checked the a/c and it cant be heard in any of the bedrooms or attic. I hear it closer to the ceiling...I think.:

WHAT IS IT????????????? AAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!

Is the battery in your smoke alarm wearing down?

We get a similar whistle a week or so before the battery needs changing, and it gets louder until we put a new one in our's.

We had one of those annoying noises in the house for awhile too. It drove me crazy. My DH is hard of hearing (all those years flying jets) and he just couldn't hear it. I thought it was my GPS, low battery. Nope. Then I thought it was his cell phone, low battery, nope. Not the smoke alarm, not the laptop low battery. Just couldn't figure it out for months.

Then all of a sudden one day, bingo! I was in the laundry room and there was the sound! It was the dryer! Something was rubbing inside the drum! So, I got that fixed!
