Default Need some advise please

Hi I know this is not the syringomyelia board, I have not been able to get back on there since that site went down a while back, I have a concern and not really sure what to do or look for. I will tell my problem then if you can help please let me know.

I have a Thorasic Syrinx (syringomyelia) I had a shunt put in about 5 yrs ago, everything has been good witht he normal simptons, a couple of days ago I started having a small headache, then yesterday when I woke up I have a busted blood vessel in my left eye, today I got a little upset about something that made me cry, when I blew my nose It was bleeding pretty good, I checked to make sure I did not have a soar area in my nose, it appears the bleeding is coming from the left side from way up, maybe the sinus area. Should I call my neurologist? I don't want to run up any bills or take his time if this is nothing. I guess one of my questions would be how would I know if my thorasic shunt is not working right and causing the pressure?

Not sure what to do.

Donna

Hey, Donna.

The nsg can't charge you for calling him. I would call and tell him what you told us, just to be safe. I have a VP (ventriculoperitoneal) shunt, so my symptoms of problems could be different from yours. Any concerns should be addressed, for peace of mind, if nothing else.

Good luck...

Default Busted Blood Vessel in Eye

Hello,

I do not have the same condition as you but I have had busted blood vessels in my eyes due to my vision problems and my retnia problemsbecause I have ROP a retnia condition.

I would go to an eye doc immeditly so they can check to make sure it out so you do not have permenat damage to your eyes. Eyesight is precious i went from 20/200 and 20/400 to a number that I am not quite sure what it is.

I am not trying to lecture you here but please take care of your vision. Mine was related to another condiion because of my retnia but you never know what can happen. I wish you luck and hope nothing really serious is wrong. If you want feel free to send me a PM.
