Default Change to va shunt?

Hi everyone, My daughter is 15 years old and had her first shunt for 12 years. seconds revision in 2007, then one in September, one two weeks ago and now we have been hospitalized since Friday . They externalized the shunt, found she had constipation for some time now and there was fluid in the peritoneum that is infected. Working on the infection, cleaning out her accumulated back up and starting to think about shunt replacement. Doctor said her abdomen may be saying cannot absorb fluid an longer and is leaning towards va shunt. I would rather try the abdominal placement again and the heart area scares me. she is a full time wheelchair user so movement and circulation issues are concerns for me. Have not had heart concerns specifically to date but wonder that we may encounter additional issues as she gets older. Any thoughts or similar experiences?
