I am extremely frustrated with the way my dr's office is treating me. I've been having ongoing symptoms for over two weeks now. It started with a severe headache and now having dizziness, nausea, short term memory issues, and now neck pain! I've been calling and trying to get in to see any of the dr's (my doc is out of town this week...go figure!!). They are just blowing me off. I had a shunt flow study that showed my shunt was draining and they did draw out some spinal fluid from my shunt and tested for infection. That proved to be negative. However, the ct scan showed fluid build up in ventricles. Just don't know what to do. Very frustrating!

I have experienced a similar situation with my Doc's office, I resorted to getting the "ombudsman office" involved - big mistake they filed "formal charges" on all of the staff - not what I wanted, I just wanted to know they were listening and to tell them I needed attention before the 3 months I had to wait for an appointment. My suggestion, be the squeaky wheel, keep calling, check daily for a cancellation, bothersome but that squeaky wheel usually gets the oil it needs

I pretty much kept bugging them and was able to get in this past Friday. The dr determined I needed surgery to correct the valve part of my shunt. I will be having surgery this Thursday (tomorrow!) to replace the VP valve with a new programmable one to better meet my needs. Thanks for replying!
