Hi I could do with some advice
I am 33 years old and was diagnosed with aqueduct stenosis at birth and have had numerous shunt revisions throughout my life. My last revision was about 20 years ago and up until about two years ago I was alright. About two years ago I started to experience symptoms associated with shunt malfunction, continual headaches, dizziness, sickness ect. I have had numerous MRI scans which have all returned indicating that the ventricles, although larger than previous scans show no cause for concern. My NS also stated that neither of my shunts are working, this either seems a contradiction or I am cured. If I am cured then why am I experiencing the symptoms and if I am not then what is going on. My question to everyone is. Has anyone had a similar situation? Has anyone got any ideas as to what may be going on? and has anyone any ideas how to stop the symptoms. My GP has given me pain killers and anti sickness drugs but none of these have worked Thanks |
