Default going for a colonoscopy and im nervous please help.

okay. Last december I was hospitalized for 12 days with an upper bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue and adhesions. On my birthday last month I noticed bleeding coming out when I have a bowel movement. My gastroenterologist wants me to have a colonoscopy next week and he wants me to take moviprep to prepare for it. I read online that if you have a history of bowel obstructions that you should not take it or should take caution while taking it. Anyone ever had this situation? If it says you shouldnt take it if you have that history then why is he making me take this? Also if you need to take precaution while taking it what should I watch out for? I am nervous because I do not know what is going to happen.

Also I am going to mention that he is not a very good communicator and only remembers me going in the hospital with pain. Any help would b greatly appreciated. Thanks
