Hi! I am 28 years old and new to this forum. I had hydrocephalus and a VP shunt placement 7 years ago. Aside from having my shunt reprogrammed a week after getting it, I've had no problems.
I recently flew to FL and back (a 2 1/2 hour flight for me). I noticed a slight headache on landing and started to feel a lot of pressure in my head. It wasn't unbearable and I dismissed it as sinuses. However, 4 days later, I can't shake my strange feeling. My ears are ringing, my stomach feels weird and while I don't have an unbearable headache my head feels pressure. Should I be worried that the flight or metal detectors affected my shunt? I've got a call into my neurosurgeon but I wanted to get others opinions too. Thanks!! |
