Sorry to hear you keep getting these headaches, I know from Dean they suck!! Good luck with getting your medical records and getting things figured out. I hope all goes well for you. keep me posted on whats going on.

I got my records. I am so confused because nothing matches up. I have 1 operative report, 2 radiology summaries, 1 discharge summary, none of which match the others. It is all random????????

Sorry they screwed up your records!! I would call them and question what you got and complain. :Good-Luck:

Hello,
I was one of the first people on the planet to have this operation, the fact that you are being told there is nothing that can be done is ludicrous. I had my shunt placed in Jan '70. Since then I have had three revisions and a replacement. I have had a headache 5 times in my life, surgery fixed them each time. The most recent in 2006, I had vertigo. A doctor telling you it is draining properly while upright and not when you are lying down, well that tells me the shunt is not doing what it is intended to do. It is not working and needs to be fixed. Any questions just ask, I am not a doctor, however I think due to the length of time I have had one I may know something.

hey,
I woke up with another headache this morning. I do not have a fever with the head chills. My shunt was last revised in 1999. I am going to my doctor tomorrow to pick up copies of my records so I can get a better understanding of my history and look up more info on some of the things I have experienced so I can get a better understanding of what it may be before I go back to the doctor.

Thanks Jason,
Yea I went to my eye doctor yesterday and she did say my vision did change a little bit and that she wants me to retake the one part of the visual field test since I apparently missed a few spots next week as well as to dilate my pupils. If these weird vision things do not go away after this Monday and she doesn't see anything wrong then I will go to my hospital and have tests done. I have never woken up and had seen double vision when checking the time on my phone before until 2 weeks ago. I can't even lay down and look at a screen because I will see double. I did however out 2 rolled towels behind my head instead of 1 and did not wake up with a headache this morning.
