Smile Hi Terrible pain, behind eye and side of head

Good afternoon

I hope you are all well?

Last year May i had a shunt Revision as well as a Metronic Valve inserted of which has not been switch on as yet. For about a month or two now i have been struggling with my awful headaces again. Pain by my temples and behind my eyes. My heeadache gets worse during the day and when i stand up from a lying down or sitting position, it gets worse?

Do you think that my Shunt is overdraining again and that im suffereing from a low pressure headache?

Please could you perhaps give me some advise? I dont want to hassle my Surgeon uneccarily.

Have a great day ahead.

Take care

God Bless

Sam

Good Heavens, call your surgeon asap! Do mention position (& length of time upright) is a factor and how long this has been going on as it is very possible you are over draining.

I have never heard of a valve that needs to be switched on before. I'm familiar with fixed, programmable or self-regulating/adjusting valves (e.g. OSV). I would really suspect you have one of those - it must be draining something (or you wouldn't need a shunt) and knowing the setting if it is a programmable would be important.
