How do I make people at work understand, when my temp reads normal?
 

Along the lines of having a cold and having hydro too, I have a cold right now. Have had it for about 3 months now! Maybe it's just different colds comming so close together I think they are the same. But anyway, my question is... my normal temprature is around 97.6 to 98.1 . Right now, even though my temp is 98.6 I don't feel sicker because of my cold. Just no fever feeling. The people I work with think even people with Hydro should have the same "normal" temp as everyone else. How do I explain that our "normal" temps can be different from people w/o hydr?

TJ, hon', if you have had this thing for 3 months, you need to see the doc. :( This is very not good. :(

So...how do we explain our body temp diffs to people lucky enough to have normal brains? Hmm...good one. I think I'd just explain that hydro can affect the hypothalamus, which controls body temp and other functions, and that because that can mean lower body temps for us, a 98.6 is a real fever for most of us. I had to explain that to a clinic nurse, but once I did, she got concerned and echoed my belief that taking Tylenol and chillin' out was a good idea.

I hope someday mom will take me in to the Doc and they will (both) believe me! I came home from a friends wedding tonight (after it was over) with a pain along my shunt tract very close to my reservior. Still have the pain too! It isn't bad pain though. And a few minutes after that pain started I got a headache!!!! When do I get a break?

I am also looking for a friend I have hydrocephalus they foung out when had a sinius xray when I had my mri they told me every think was flowing with no blockage that was in july here in late sept cold ,rain wind my post naual drip is acting up on a med for that but my head fells like jello rushing by.So far good luck with out a shunt.

How are you doing please wirte and let me know I am a 66 year old female

I have hydrocphalus with not shuts some time head aches but live with it every cold spell we have i get a whezzing in my chest so my md gave me
methlipredenisolne pack it helps my whezzing but gives me a slight head aches
has this happened to any one else :confused:
