Default shuntogram

Hi all,
we've been battling trying to figure out whats wrong with mom for months, now finally we've found out that she has a cyst in her brain, she also has hydro and has for years, her shunt is a programmable and we've thought there may be a problem with it but it always works fine when tested. So just to rule out a shunt malfunction they took her for a shuntogram today and it took 4 hours, i guess it ran really slow, previously it went thru within a half an hour. Is this a sign of blockage?? Has anyone else taken this long? Mom has gone from feeding herself and walking to hardly being able to stay awake and unable to follow commands and the neuro thought most likely it was the cyst causing pressure. Now I don't know what they're going to do!!!! Any advice????? Smitty

Thumbs up blockage

Yes it is a sign of a blockage. if mine doesn't go down within like a 1/2 hour. Then he conciders it malfunctioning. My Programable ones always showed they were working when tested unless they injected the dye to check. Now I have a non programable valve, which supposedly is still working but I am still having malfunction symptoms, because of what we believe is a virus and nerve pain.
