be sure to do a search before asking a question. most times you can find the answer. they tend to get a bit huffy if the question has recently been answered.

Workers' Compensation Glossary

Workers' compensation is the oldest social insurance program. It has been adopted in most states, including California. California has a no-fault system, which means that injured employees need not prove the injury was someone else's fault in order to receive workers' compensation benefits for an on-the-job injury.
