Default mediation hearing

I have an upcoming mediation hearing for worker's comp and I would like to know what to expect. Some people told me that it is coming to an end if you have one. Can anyone let me know about any experiences they may have had with one. I am eager to be finished with this whole comp thing. Any imput would be appreciated!!!!!!!

I hope some members can help you out- my appeal hearing ended up being a settlement negotiation- so that is a different thing.

But at the very least I hope you have compiled and added up all moneys, bills and estimated time/wages lost- at least so you have a ball park $$ amount just in case.
then add any possible future costs on top of that and add 10k for atty to get off the top.
just a rough guesstimate IMO

Thanks for your response----I do have everything added up--I think I've had this figure for a while. I have had settlement offers--the last one being a year ago. My figure isn't too far off from what they had offered last time--they probably spent the difference in a years worth of wages, medical and atty. fees. I do hope that this mediation hearing means it's the end because I am ready!!! But I would like to know if anyone has had one and what I should expect.

Sorry Krankie, we have been in the "system" for 11 years fighting. We have had settlement hearings only to be sent to another examiner for something else again. Might be our attorney, might just be the complicated nature of the case and the fact that the case when it is over will be significant. Don't let them knock you down. They hope you are weak and tired so they can settle with you for less-just think it out very clearly ahead of time and don't cave in.

Thanks for the reply. I just want to be aware of what the hearing will be like before I get there. I have all my ducks in a row--just want to know what to expect--if it will be like a regular hearing or very informal.....just looking for anyone's stories or ideas.
