Confused When will I begin recieving pay for time off work

My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: Mississippi.
Hi all. Please help if able. This is my first post...
I've been off work for 3 months now. I went to dr for my injuries, was put on light duty until further notice, pending MRI. My work very grudgingly allowed this for 2 weeks. After that, my supervisor told me the owner (small dry cleaners) said there is no light duty & I may not return to work until my injuries are resolved. They refused to let me file my first report of injury. I retained an attorney at this point. My atty filed the first report of injury with the state workers comp board instead. I have a text from my boss that I recieved saying they would file & get the ball rolling. Well I didnt trust them because of the shysty things they've done to me in the past-so I kept my atty. The company's insurance company is jerking me around. I was supposed to start physical therapy a month ago. The appt was canceled by physical therapy because they can't get approval for payment from the insurance company- they won't respond to calls or emails. I haven't worked in 3 months, much less began to recieve any compensation for not being able to work. My attorney says this takes time. How much? I was told I had to be off work for 5 days & would begin being paid after 14 days. Can anyone please shed some light on this for me? I'm in pain but can't get seen because insurance company will not approve claims. I've gone broke, I have lost just about everything in this time due to not being able to work & not being paid for time not at work.
