Default post concussive syndrome and work

i'm a manager of the same company for 25 years. in February I fell on the ice at work. I was concussed, broke a rib, dislocated my jaw, injured ligament behind my left eye and acquired BPPV. I was in therapy vistibular and visual till mid June. In late June I was rear-ended in a car accident. Though I had return to work prior to the accident I was still receiving treatment and had limitations. The accident caused concussion symptoms to come back. I had a CAT scan at the ER. No new findings. Released and told to follow up with my regular management team. But I did initially I was to bad they couldn't treat me. Sent me home to bed. I slept two days. When I woke my dizzyness was gone and I could think more clearly. I went back to work but I was having severe radiculopathy pain in the left arm. I tried to treat it with the steroid injection used successfully in the past. No good. Miss much work because of pain. Had a second injection. Also didn't work. Dr. ordered new test.also ask for copies of the CAT scan from the ER. With those in hand he told me that my condition was much worse and I needed emergency surgery. He also told me that the CAT scan mention damage to my spinal cord but recommended that an MRI to be done to see the extent. The ER doctor had never shared this with us. They referred me to a surgeon. Surgeon says I need immediate surgery. Four collapse discs with material lurping into spinal column. I got a second opinion. Same conclusion. Need emergency surgery. I had this November 17. Return to work January 12. Since then, struggle but got through. Thought I was doing well considering the time frame. Today my employer suspended me. Won't let me return to work until I sign a last chance agreement. This agreement, says that I have been irritable and hard to get along with. Not effectively mentoring my employees and disrespecting co-workers. they wanted to keep all the complaints anonymous. I refuse to sign. Took it home to my wife. She read it and said that I had been unable to handle stress since my fall over a year ago and my concussion. she said that she talk to my neurologist about this and he said I might have postconcussive syndrome. This was several months back she never told me.
My claim is still open as I've never achieve full recovery. The medical benefits are closed because I had no more scheduled treatment.I don't feel I should be disciplined for irritability particularly that which cannot be explained by example. Furthermore,so I was not aware that I was like this I believe my wife. If she says this happen after the accident though it is a surprise I find it at least as credible as My methods at work, Have suddenly become an appropriate after 26 years. If the accident caused my inappropriate behavior should I be subject to discipline? Does anyone have any suggestions how to proceed?

yes, I have many..Yes, you have been under stress and anxiety..they use irritability word to get rid of you legally...This is called legal corruption that employers are allowed to do.
you should not sign anything..you can file a claim agains your employer...I would do it knowing what I know now, because looks like you will loose your job anyway unless you can find a good attorney....Now here might be the catch: You need to prove that your accident caused you increased stress and anxiety. That has nothing to do what they accuse you off...There is allways two sides of every coin..employers and insurers should understand that it is fortheir financial benefit that they should try to help workers, plus they would do what is right....but they dont care..too many attorneys sucking the system...
With that said, you need to understand that there is a lot of fraudulent claims, and they are tired of paying expensive attorney legal fees and expensive raudulent settlements...

Dont sign anything, your employer and sometimes your attorney too are not there to help you when you need them...Get a good workers compensation attorney..Get a young one with good reputation. go to ** for example...

I would suggest you to see a psychiatrist, your neuro knows about that discipline but he is the coordinator, since is your employer insurance that is paying his bills, you get the picture...get a second opinion, a good workers compensation attorney because there are a lot of quack attorneys too out there. I used to blame them, but I stopped after I realized i don'ty have energy anymore to blame anyone, I just have energy to try to do what I can.

You might want to look into a Functional MRI, that maps your brain activity with your motor function and also see a psychologist (who will not give you medication). A psychiatrists might give you crazy meds that you may or not need.

get ready to fight with what you got, and loose or win the battle. Be courteous and dont mess up the legal staff because they see it all everyday, and they will help you more if you don't cuss or swear or yell at them

With that said, don't quit till you get the treatment and compensation that you deserve. My experience is that the workers comp CEOs make millions in bonuses while they coach management to deny claims to delay payments.

They have a lot of money, and the workers compensation system laws are outdated and move at snalil pace, with little recources. We have even less , so we are the folks that are hurt, yet get the negative n snow bowlling effect..Without getting into polictics, we need Obama to reform the WC too..

I have been under pain because of treatment denials, been through four attorneys, and find that I am glad I didn't quit on myself.

My face is all messed up and my eye is sore, and no one cares....

Also, let me tell you that you might be lucky if an MRI shows what you have. An MRI is a image slice of a specific location of your head and brain.

i think you should demand a full spectrum 3D image of your brain. Do it ASAP, because your brain and nervous system is awesome and has a superman property that is called elasticity. What that means is that its able to try to reconfigure itself but ignoring nerves that cause pain , but that takes some time. You should document your status now, but some doctors will not want to approve this because they think you are question their ability to treat you, and that is not the case. You are just documenting your stats

Reading positive materials has helped me enourmously to overcome this event that changed my life tottally.
We have issues at home before, and ended up divorcing, because i was surely not patient. I rather have broken my legs and arms than have nerve injury secondary to whiplash injury, but I don't , so expect to have to fight with attorneys that don't know nothing or care about you injuries.

The other side attorney is payed to find holes in your case to discredit your claim.

I hope this can heklp you some way, do your research before you do anything because you are not me, and your case is very different.
