Default w/c to pay or not to pay?

I was told to go to PT in NYC for PT twice a week for TOS but I can only afford once. Now that this Dr told the truth and it is caused by my work as a dental hygienist, shouldn't w/c be paying for this 2 hour train ride, cab fair and copays and my day of missed work? If I have to go for six to 8 weeks that's a chunck of change.

i called my w/c atty but he's out till Monday. Any advice?

Hello Withmore: I'm really not sure where your claim is, but I'm in Canada. I was told wc here is legally bound to pay for pt as long as a doctor or specialist orders it. Like I said not to sure about your laws. I hope you are entitled to pt and milege at least. Take Care

yes,
you need to look on your state website for the work comp board or injured worker section - travel costs should be paid /reimbursed and there should be a form for you to fill out
- keep all receipts for mileage, meals parking, bus fare etc.

PT will need to be authorized by w/c - but if denied the PT place might use your pvt card as secondary ins so you can have tx while you appeal the denial.
I was able to get tx that way but ended up paying the cost out of my settlement due to mistakes and delays in billing and notifications.
But for me, in the long run I really think getting the PT timely that way just might have saved my ****

There is risk I think in waiting for the approvals.
Unless you really learn about self care and posture care
- a great thing about the online videos - you can get some great lessons for free - massage, posture, TrP, bodywork plus you can see some that look good and some that are not so good.
so when you can get PT or therapy approved you will have a good idea of how it should be.
