Hey yall- I need to mentally prepare myself. Here's the deal: I've bought tickets to go visit my family and go to the beach for three weeks in August. Just got the mail informing of my final QME for Permanent Status and Rating... while I'd be away!! I hope this is an acceptable reason to reschedule. Should I call the QME doctor's office for rescheduling or my WC adjustor?

there should be some instructions or a number to call or write to on the letter??..
If not I think the wc adjuster sets up the appts so you need to go thru them- don't contact the qme doc. I'd just say you have plans to see your family and you will be out of town at that time.. none of their business about the beach part... Wouldn't want them thinking you are vacationing and having a little bit of fun or something fun isn't allowed

I would just let them know you have a long-standing family commitment, and leave it at that. You are entitled to have plans. They should reschedule without a problem.

Following up::
I called the QME Doctor's office and said :I have a commitment out of town until _date_, could I please reschedule before or afterwards- Or will I need to do this through my WC adjustor?" they said, "Don't worry, how does _date_ work for you? Good. We'll call your adjustor and let them know about the change." All the same, I think I'll call my adjustor myself (maybe after business hours cos we aren't exactly friends) and leave a message that I re-scheduled and if there is any problem let me know.
